Plaza Auto Leasing..... my very very bad experience with them

I have been looking to buy or lease a vehicle for a few weeks, and after speaking with a saleperson called Mendy at Plaza Auto Leasing, I thought I was dealing with honest people. I went there with my wife to meet with Mendy. We spent a few minutes walking around the showroom and finally decided on a model and lease terms. We then went to Mendy's desk and discussed the trade-in of my vehicle. Mendy stated that in order to give me an accurate estimate as to the value of my vehicle, I would need to give Plaza Auto Leasing my car keys so that they can evaluate the car. I gave him my car keys. He gave it to an employee called Nussin, who proceeded to look  for my car. He pressed the automatic unlock button so that the car would make a sound and he would find it. After doing this, he returned to the showroom and gave the key to another employee called Paul. After about 10 minutes, Paul runs into the office where we were sitting and yells that someone broke into the car ( first he stated that he saw one 'black person' do it, and then said that he saw  two 'black people' break in). My wife and I ran out and found the car was a mess, and realized that our GPS which we purchased a few weeks earlier was missing, in addition to a bag of quarters. We also realized that the thief  did not break anything, such as a window or door lock, in order to enter the vehicle.
We returned to the office very upset. We stated that since the keys were given in good faith to Plaza Auto Leasing and that an employee(s) of Plaza Auto Leasing had the keys and opened the door (in order to be able to find the car by hearing the alarm sound), they were responsible for this loss. The first reaction from the owner , Mr. Gruenbaum,  was that they were not responsible for our loss, but that if we made a deal to buy or lease a car with Plaza Auto Leasing, he would pay us for the GPS. We stated that , even though we were seriously looking to make a deal with Plaza Auto Leasing, reimbursing us for our loss due to the negligence of Plaza Auto Leasing should not hinge on whether or not we make a deal. We went back and forth with this, and even Mendy ( who happens to be a decent  and honest person) stated to us that if he was the owner, he would absolutely pay us for our loss as this was the right thing to do, since it was the negligence of Plaza Auto Leasing that caused our loss . After seeing that we were getting nowhere with Mr. Gruenbaum, we decided to call the police. The police came and made a complete report. After they left, we once again asked Plaza Auto Leasing to do the right thing and pay us for our loss. At that point, the other owner , Mr. Furst, got involved and stated that he was not responsible for our loss, and abruptly 'threw us out', all the while shouting at us.

The amount of our loss was about $190. for the GPS. What was so amazing to us was the unprofessional way in which the two owners acted towards us. They saw that we were very serious customers as told to them by Mendy, yet due to the fact that they were so petty and so morally deficient in not caring enough to 'doing the right thing' and paying us for our loss caused by their incompetent employees, they lost a lucrative deal, in addition to having their actions exposed for all to see. We are now taking Plaza Auto Leasing to court.

  3. as the owner of plaza auto leasing we offered to purchase the customer a refurbished unit of the same model as he refused. At that point we asked him to leave our office as he was shouting and screaming that it was out fault that his vehicle was broken into.

i believe that our offer was more then fair but he refused, i had my doubt if there was ever a navigation unit in the car.
